Introduction to SQL and Database Design


This project based course introduces learner to the basic design principles associated with the implementation of a relational database and the Structured Query Language (SQL) statements:

• Create database objects including tables, column definitions, constraints, indexes and views.

• Use table and column constraints to manage database relational integrity.

• Use of SQL to create database objects using the Data Definition Language (DDL) syntax.

• Use of the SQLite database management system

Prerequisite: Computer literate.

1 hour online lecture on Thursdays, self-paced
assignments and 1 hour study hall on Tuesdays
